Anti-Slop Copy Kit

Three agent skills plus a Python linter that flags AI-sounding phrases in your copy. The linter exits with code 1, so it can block a commit, a CI run, or an agent that says "done" too early.

What's inside

• slopcheck.py: one Python file, no dependencies, works offline. 47 pattern rules plus a three-adjective-list check and an exclamation-mark check.
• Agent skills: deslop-edit (edit text until it passes), landing-copy (asks for facts first, writes 4 hero angles, then runs the check) and x-post-writer (with an X character counter: URLs = 23, emoji = 2).
• A git pre-commit hook, a GitHub Action, an AGENTS.md snippet and a Cursor rule.
• A before/after example and 28 unit tests.

Works with

• Python 3.8 or newer on macOS, Linux or Windows.
• Agents that read SKILL.md folders, such as Claude Code or Codex. Cursor users can use the rule or the AGENTS snippet.

Limits

• It matches patterns. It does not detect AI authorship and passing it doesn't make copy good.
• English only. Some rules will flag things you wrote on purpose; you can turn rules off in a config file.
• The skills tell the agent to run the script. If your agent skips that, the git hook or CI check still catches HIGH findings.

Bait Filter for X (Chrome extension)

Collapses engagement-bait posts on x.com using rules you control. No AI, no API key, no account and no network requests. It reads the posts already on your screen and collapses the ones that match.

From the end-to-end test on a local page that copies X's post markup. The accounts and posts are made up.

What it hides (each rule can be switched off)

• Bait endings: posts ending in a colon, an ellipsis, a down arrow or a thread emoji.
• Bait phrases: 20 editable built-in phrases such as "be honest", "drop your" and "comment below".
• Your keywords (whole word or /regex/), muted accounts, and a never hide list.
• Hidden posts collapse to a one-line bar showing which rule fired, with a Show button. You can also hide them completely, or limit it to the feed or to replies.

Install and limits

• It's not on the Chrome Web Store. You install it with Load unpacked in developer mode (about a minute, with step-by-step instructions included). Chrome may show a developer-mode notice at startup.
• It works on desktop Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Manifest V3 Chromium browsers. It does not work in the X mobile apps, and Firefox and Safari aren't supported.
• It was tested on a local copy of X's post markup (18 unit tests and 13 end-to-end checks), not on the live logged-in site. If X changes its page structure, it can stop working until a fix ships.
• These are simple text rules. They will miss some bait and may hide an honest post that ends in a colon. It doesn't read images or videos.
• Privacy: no analytics and no remote code. Settings are kept in Chrome storage.
